About Kukua

Kukua is a Nairobi-based startup, whose mission is to empower children of the 21st century with the skills and capacity to dream beyond what they think is possible and to imagine and create a better world. This mission brought to life through Super Sema.

As the creators of the Super Sema franchise, Kukua believes it's time to change the world and showcase "supa kidpower" with Super Sema; by blurring the worlds of education, entertainment and technology to empower the children of the 21st century.

This is not the first time the Kenyan actor is working on children-targeted edutaining content. In 2019, she published her debut children's book 'Sulwe', which 'means 'star' in her native language, Luo, tackles powerful themes about colourism, self esteem and learning that beauty radiates from within. It is a story created to inspire children to see their unique beauty. In addition to the book, Lupita also released the 'Sulwe's Song' written by herself, K'naan and Steve Mcewen.
