We Attended The Opening Of The New Contemporary Blaauwberg Beach Hotel

Beach front of Blaauwberg Beach Hotel

On Thursday, 7th March we were invited to the launch of Blaauwberg Beach Hotel. As the name suggests, the new contemporary hotel is situated at the beachfront of Blouberberg beach.
Located on Beach Road Boulevard with magnificent views of the famous table mountain and the ocean, the upmarket area whose beauty never fades despite the strong winds, is not only breathtaking but also bustling with activity such as: surfing, kiting and so forth.

The official unveiling was at 6pm for 6:30 pm and themed 'Life's a beach', but the way Cape Town weather is set up; it was hard to adhere to the dress code. It was a very cold, rainy - not to mention very windy day but we still showed up and had lots of fun despite the gloomy weather.

One of the great things to note was how the event kicked off on time. As someone who loathes bad time management skills; I was very glad to see invited guests arrive on time and the order of the day commencing as planned.

The hotel comprises of two towers with tranquility-filled views of the beach, Table Mountain and Robben Island, in addition to a bar, beauty & wellness spa, restaurant, swimming pool and a children's jacuzzi. Both the swimming pool and the children's jacuzzi facing the ocean.

The newly launched hotel was built as a four star establishment, however, they have to operate for at least six months before they can get rated.

We were treated to numerous delicious dishes mostly served in form of canapés from the hotel's Waves Restaurant accompanied by various beverages made up of gins, wines to name a few.

It was such a beautiful experience not only because of the hotel's facilities, menu, and the naturally alluring scenery, but also the lovely warm staff who ensured that we were well taken care of.
