These Nigerian Women Are Making History As Africa's First Ever Bobsled Team To Qualify For The Winter Olympics

In history making news, a trio of Nigerian women becomes the first ever bobsled team to qualify for the winter Olympics after completing the required five races.

Ngozi OnwumereSeun Adigun and Akuoma Omeoga will be competing in the 2018 Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, making them the first ever African participants to qualify for the Winter Games in bobsled.

The great news comes after the Bobsled & Skeleton Federation of Nigeria (BSF) shared a picture of the three women on instagram, captioned, "We couldn't be more proud to have our Women's Bobsled Team representing the country of Nigeria at the International Training Period at the 2018 winter Olympic venue in Pyeongchang, S. Korea. This is such a significant step in the growth of Bobsled and we cannot thank all of you enough for your support thus far. Let the journey continue!"
