Introducing Alternative Fridays, a platform whose aim is to introduce a culture of African alternative solidarity and to open the doors to the alternative industry, to share trends and to change the way South Africans look at alternative artistry.
The concept is the brainchild of South African artist and filmmaker, Obie Mavuso.
Hashtag Radio will act as a platform where all things African alternative music are celebrated and highlighted on The WaAfrika Online Show (12pm - 2p,m). The 30-minute feature will air every Friday at 1:00 pm (South African time). In terms of structure, each edition will see Obie share the latest in alternative music trend, profiling alternative artists we should look out for as well as artist interviews.
The overall aim of this feature is to create more awareness on alternative South African artists.
