The African Leadership Academy invites African scholars to apply for their Global Scholars Program.
How it works
Acceptance into the Global Scholars Program is competitive and there are limited spots available so you are encouraged to apply early. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and the registration fee is $500 USD. If you are not accepted into any of the GSP sessions after registration, you will receive a refund of $450 USD. The registration fee is non-refundable if you are accepted into GSP 2015 but choose not to attend.
This year, the ALA is offering a two-day University Guidance Workshop for GSP participants who want to compose outstanding university application essays and gain skills and strategies for determining a list of universities to apply to that will be the best fit to their personality and interests. It is especially ideal for participants in GSP Session 3. The cost of this workshop is $500 USD.

Session 1: Monday, 29 June – Friday, 17 July
Session 2: Monday, 13 July – Friday, 31 July
Session 3: Saturday, 25 July – Wednesday, 12 August
University Guidance Workshop: Thursday, 13 August – Friday, 14 August
COST & PAYMENTS
The total program fee for GSP is $4200 USD including a registration fee of $500 USD. The total program fee includes tuition, room and board, extracurricular activities and entry fees for all museums and trips. Local transportation is also included, but transportation to Johannesburg is the responsibility of each participant.
