"We Have To Change The Way We Raise Our Children" - Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Speaks To Breaking Views With UNICEF

Nigerian literary icon, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie recently joined Breaking Views with UNICEF in acknowledgement of International  Children's day which was celebrated today, 1st June.

As always, the affluent outspoken author had relevant points to share, one of them being, we have to change the way we raise our children and that it is okay to have an opinion as a child.

Here is more of what she shared:

Days like Children's Day are ideally relevant and like other days like Africa Day, the day raises questions and moments of reflection on our children. Questions such as, how is the African girl child acknowledged in real life? African girls face so many issues as opposed to their male counterparts. Rampant child marriage which is so rife on our continent plus educating a girl child not being emphasized extensively.

Until the girl child is equally relevant and catered to, such days on our calender will forever present such questions.
