FAFA Fashion For Peace Nairobi, Kenya - 31st May 2014: Peace Focus On South Sudan Conflict






Nothing like a big event for a good cause.  Commonly known as FAFA, the Festival for Fashion and Arts is an annual event held in Kenya since 2008. 'Fashion for Peace' is focused on bringing together established and emerging African fashion designers from across the continent.
The event debuted in 2008 during the post-election violence that took place in Kenya. 

This year's edition aims to be bigger and better. Below are the details: 

Venue:   The Oval Rooftop - 8th floor, Westlands, Nairobi

Fashion for Peace: 

A Gala Dinner and Show of top Kenyan fashion brands together with regional or Pan-African guest designers. With designers selected by an independent committee, models trained by Ajuma Nasenyana of Citi Models Africa; top international hair company Shair and make up artist Suzie Beauty, this is THE top quality regional fashion event. It also includes a Sports Fashion Show, with national athletes strutting the runway as we build recognition of their role as ambassadors of the country. CEO’s also realize their Bucket List with a charity show of custom made outfits, which encourages them to Buy Kenyan Build Kenya.

This year,there will be 18 Kenyan Designers, one collection by South Sudanese designers and possibly two designers from Botswana.

The peace focus this year will be on the South Sudan conflict and part of the proceeds will go to a charity organization – Seed of Hope.

Tickets are available for sale through Safaricom’s M-Ticketing platform. All one needs to do is dial 1511 and follow instructions. You can also buy tickets on Rupu, Chandarana Stores and KikoRomeo shop on the first floor of Yaya Centre. You can also call the FAFA office on +254 712 937 930.

1. Gold Tickets: 8,000 KES (7,500 until one week before the show) - Dedicated Lift; Front 2 rows of seating. Seats are numbered and reserved; Drinks in the Jameson VIP Lounge (2 vouchers per person). Drinking Water provided; Self service Mingling Buffet by Sarova Stanley; Allowed to eat in the Jameson Lounge; Gift Bags; After Party.

2. Silver Tickets: 6,000 KES (5,500 until one week before show) - Welcome Drinks on the Terrace courtesy of Jameson; Mingling Buffet by Sarova Stanley with Gold Ticket holders. Drinking Water provided; 3rd row of seating or further back; After Party
Screen Only & After Party Tickets: 1,500 KES (Limited tickets available) - Access to watch the Fashion for Peace show on a screen on the rooftop terrace (roofed around edges); Red Carpet; Access to After Party at the rooftop terrace. Food and Drinks are cash only.Water will be provided until 11pm.

Please note: Due to the tight security measures put in place by Securex, we advice that you arrive at the venue by 5.30 pm and allow roughly 7 minutes for the security check before you’re allowed into the building. Kindly be patient with us, your security is extremely important to us.
