The nominees for BET Awards 2014 were announced yesterday, Wednesday, 14 May. Davido Diamond Platinumz (Tanzania), (Nigeria), Mafikizolo (South Africa), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Sarkodie (Ghana) and Toofan (Togo) have been nominated in the Best International Act - Africa category for this year's BET Awards.
The award ceremony will be held on Sunday, June 29th and broadcast live at 8pm on BET. Comedian Chris Rock will serve as host for this year's edition.
Last year's nominees in the same category included, Donald (SA) Ice Prince (Nigeria), Lira (South Africa, Toya Delayz (Nigeria), Radio and Weasel (Uganda) with Nigerian Hip Hop artist, Ice Prince Zamani emerging as the winner.
My two cents: Davido and Mafikizolo have had a great time with hits left right and center. Mafikizolo had the best come back they would ever wish for, for their album 'Reunited' which is still enjoying local airplay as well as across the continent and internationally. As for Davido, need I state the obvious? He has been representing HKN music on all grounds. Either way, we just have to wait and see; after all we support Team Africa so may the best artist win.
