One of the most anticipated social events of the year, South African Fashion Week 2014 kicks off later today, Wednesday 2nd April and will run through to 8th April 2014 in Africa's most renowned commercial city, Johannesburg.
South African designers will be showcasing their fashion collections for Spring/Summer 2014. Known for its glamour and flare, SAFW promises to be the best event to be this week.
The SAFW brand was launched in 1997 with a mission committed to expanding our institutional capacity to maximise the potential of our local fashion design industry through:
• providing a marketing platform based on established international best practise;
• facilitating the transfer of industry experience, skills and know-how;
• enabling partnerships that will allow micro fashion designer businesses to leverage the export infrastructure of the larger textile and clothing manufacturers
• encouraging the raising of local design output to match international standards.
