Proud Moment For Africa! Lupita Nyong'o Wins An Oscar

The long wait is finally over! Kenyan actress/filmmaker, Lupita Nyong'o walked away with an Oscar for best supporting actress last night at the 86th Annual Academy Awards. For the past months, the 12 Years A Slave actress has been nominated for various awards while we saw her slay at all red carpet events. She won a few awards prior to the Oscars and last night as some of us her fans could hardly wait for Ms Nyong'o to win her well deserved/ long awaited Oscar for her role as Patsey in Steve McQueen's award winning movie, 12 Years A Slave.

A number of proud Africans took to social media yesterday with their best wishes to the star before the award ceremony. among well wishers were Kenyan President, Uhuru Kenyatta
