Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie Nominated For Bailey’s Women’s Prize For Fiction





Some have labeled her as a prominent fresh voice among young anglophone writers. Nigerian author, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie stays on top of her literary profession. The multiple award winning writer is one of 20 women nominated for the Bailey’s Women’s Prize for Fiction for her latest offering, 'Americanah'.
The awards focus on work by women written in English with a prize worth $50,000.

The opinioted happy feminist is the only African nominated alongside Donna Tartt (The Goldfinch),  Eleanor Catton (The Luminaries) and Margaret Atwood (MaddAddam).
The Six finalists will be announced on April 7th and the winner will be revealed on June 4th.

                           

Americanah is a fiction novel  published in 2013 and tells the story of a young Nigerian woman who emigrates to America for a university education.
