American apparel manufacturer, Vans has collaborated with Ghana's Della to create a Spring Collection for 2014 titled 'Della x Vans'.
The Vans x Della partnership consists of a six-piece batik footwear capsule for men and women.
This collaboration serves as an opportunity platform to raise the awareness of Della’s dedication to empowering women of the Volta Region in Ghana.
Della is responsible for handcrafting fabrics through a local batik process to create exclusive prints blended on Vans classic Sk8-Hi Reissue, Era, Authentic, Sk8-Hi Slim and the two new accessory silhouettes, a large hobo bag and wristlet clutch.
The rich colours of the fabric are inspired by the landscape and culture of the region and made up of colours like blue, yellow, red and green mimic, the riverbanks and tree lines found in the Volta region.

The creative director and founder of Della Tina Tangalakis had this to say:
“Della is a socially responsible fashion line that works with a team of women in Ghana, West Africa. What’s great is when we are able to have successful partnership with other companies, it really pushes us. It sometimes doubles or triples the community and passion we have. My goal is to sustain that and push it even more.”
