Barbara Minishi is a Kenyan photographer whose photography ranges from art, commercial documentary, fashion and portrait.
She describes photography as her playground that provides her and her audience to re-imagine, connect and learn.
Barbara has also been profiled on Al-Jazeera for her work in a documentary titled, ' The New African Photography'.
The industry being male dominated and the so called fact that stereotypes are inevitable,(sigh), the talented photographer says, "when I started out, one woman told me, you're black, you're. There's no possible way you can be a professional photographer". She carried on with her passion anyway and look where she is now?! The power that lies in knowing what you want!
