In February 2011, Uganda or should I say East Africa in general was introduced to a locally made TV series on NTV. The Hostel. It received a great audience with reviews across East Africa and better yet aired on Africa Magic Entertainment which then gave Ugandans in the diaspora a chance to watch home grown drama.
The first season received acclaimed success and now the show returned for a third season. This is a big deal for Ugandan TV productions since they need to catch up with neighbouring countries such as Kenya.
The third season started in May and I hope people continue to support it. I mean the industry cannot co-exist without the viewers so, supporting home grown talent is a great way to move forward.
The Hostel is really trying and kudos to those behind it.
Hopefully we get to watch it on Africa Magic soon but I think that will only be at the end of the season. Can you imagine?! Any way, better late than never.
