Let Your Hair Speak

My Natural Hair, turned the beautiful Marble Arch venue in Hyde Park corner, Southern Sun Hotel, into a vision of natural beauty.

The venue not only had a spectacular view but was filled with breath taking Goddesses celebrating their natural hair, in all shapes, forms and colour. My Natural Hair, a product produced right here in South Africa for natural hair, is free of sulphates, parabens, silicones, & mineral oils, making them safe for you and the environment.

A brunch menu inspired by the ingredients avocado and olive oil, which are found in the My Natural Hair products, consisted of a duo of hot and cold delicacies served throughout the day.

The morning was filled with a brief informational session on the brand & its ethos from Catherine Williams, Brand Manager for the My Natural Hair range. Catherine educated guests on the product as well as past, current and future campaigns. She also explained the Let Your Hair speak concept of dealing with your natural hair in the healthiest way, whilst displaying your natural crown with pride. The fun filled photo booth and a natural hair styling competition kept guests entertained, whilst guests chatted and shared their natural hair journeys.

Williams also emphasized how“Hair plays an integral role in a woman’s identity and in South Africa that role has been a highly politicized topic of conversation. This is what the modern natural hair movement and My Natural Hair’s views are aligned with – the abolishment of unrealistic standards of beauty and the shift to a more Afrocentric approach and love of who we are, naturally. I am a strong believer in equal representation in media and in the power of digital. And as long as I have a say, My Natural will always maintain a level of integrity in line with this.”
