Buks Runs With Minor Syndrome




Buks, real name, Ntokozo Mazibuko was born in Pimville, Soweto. His passion for music has played an important part in his life since an early age. He was first exposed to Jazz and RnB by his parents which motivated him to learn the piano, clarinet and saxophone and later found his love for Kwaito and Hip Hop through influences such as P.Diddy, Jay Z and Mase.

 At a young age Buks discovered a beat making program and started experimenting with different sounds, this is where he was introduced to the idea of production. He was originally part of the production trio, IV LEAGUE, which produced award winning rapper, AKA’s debut album, Alter Ego. He has since gone on to produce hit singles for Pro, Khuli Chana, AKA, Tuks, Teargas, Solo and Many other celebrated local Hip Hop artists.

 Buks has previously released 2 singles titled “Finish Line” and “All the time”.  He also featured lyrically on singles such as Solo – The Shame & Reason – The Crown, including the upcoming release of Solo’s deluxe version of his album, Dreams. A. Plenty & Tumi’s upcoming album, Return of the King on a song titled “Bayete”


 The Minor Sydrome, Buks’ current release expresses “Being youthful and falling into the idea of not caring too much. It paints the picture of how we all have that “flaw” at times no matter how old we are. The minor syndrome."
