Miss South Africa Rolene Strauss has been crowned Miss World 2014. The event was wrapped up today in England.
The 22 year old fourth year medical student beat more than 120 contestants for the coveted title. In second position was Miss Hungary while Miss United States came third.

Following previous Miss World pageants, South Africa always makes it to top 10 so it was no surprise that she maintained the standard.
When asked why would she like to become Miss World, Rolene replied that coming from SA, the country's unity and the forgiveness it's built on, she would be proud to represent an organization that is a beacon of hope to the world.
Miss Kenya and Miss Ghana also represented Team Africa as one of the semi finalists in this year's competition. Miss Kenya went as far as Top 10.
